Very big resort with an impressive number of staff. I liked the spacious room with ocean view, and the extensive breakfast variety. I lost count about the number of swimming pools and restaurants they have, it's truly impressive!

Fantastic stay with clean facilities and wonderful staff that ensured we were well looked after- special thanks to Housekeeping staff Hiruni who was kind and personable and ensured our room's were wonderfully kept and even did some fantastic towel art- also the lady waitress/bar manager from the bar and clubhouse who was great with our family and looked after us well.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Shangri-La Hambantota in Sri Lanka! We arrived late around 8 PM, and despite the hour, the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. When we found that the AC in our original room wasn’t working, the team responded immediately and assisted us with changing the room. To our surprise and delight, they even upgraded us to a beautiful suite—a gesture that made our stay feel even more special. A heartfelt thank you to tharindi de silva, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her kindness and professionalism truly stood out and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed every moment of our two-day stay. The food at the pool and bar was fantastic, with great flavors and excellent service. The lifeguards were amazing—attentive, friendly, and always making sure everyone, especially the kids, was safe and having fun. Our kids had an absolute blast, and the whole experience was relaxing, joyful, and filled with great memories. This resort offers the perfect mix of luxury and family-friendly comfort. We can’t wait to return

We had an unforgettable stay at the hotel. I booked it last minute and they were happy to accommodate my last minute request to decorate our room for my proposal to my girlfriend. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We booked half board and the breakfast and dinner were both excellent with a huge variety of options catering to all cultures. I would especially like to thank Tharindi. She was so helpful in arranging the proposal, made our stay unforgettable and left us with a parting gift. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing time in this beautiful country.

Guest Relations Manager Tharindi made our stay special. We were treated extra of my expectations. We were there celebrating my friend’s birthday and they did everything to make her feel special at this day. And the spa is something amazing, highly recommend! Excursions from hotel are very good also, I recommend to take Ella one.
